I've spent 40 years helping people get on the same page in organizations. On different kinds of change pages.
In my first job after college, I staffed a community mental health center's residential treatment program and helped launch and run the agency's first-ever strategic planning and program evaluation efforts. While in graduate school and working at USEPA, I worked directly with state and local executive, legislative, and environmental officials to improve intergovernmental communication and collaboration.
Over the decades, I've owned a software company with my brother which created major change in Fortune 100 companies' property and injury risk management. I was COO and President of a management consulting company which supported a lot of government change. And I've owned independent consulting practices focused on organizational collaboration, conflict, communciation, and change.
Twenty-five of these 40 years I wrote Federal government proposals, and supported some Federal agency acquisitions. What's interesting is how much that work revolves around organizational culture and change.
I have an MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. I earned a fun undergraduate liberal arts degree which I was able to design. These days I'm on a mission to show others how to do what they might otherwise hire me for. And to build individual and team change capabilty by changing the conversation.
